Telluride Off-Roading Waterfall Elopement

Anna + Masen had one of the most picturesque elopement scenes I’ve been a part of to date. We were met with ALL the weather; rain, sleet, and snow met us at every corner. But, the only thing that mattered for these two was being together, so no weather could rain on their parade.

We began the day at their lodging for getting ready and detail photos. I always love to suggest getting ready photos, because it tells the story of the day. We’re not just worried about stunning photos over here; we want raw, real, storytelling that’s authentic to how the day happened!

The ceremony was held at Trout Lake, a lake in Telluride with expansive mountain views of the San Juan mountain range. This is always a great location for an easily accessible elopement location that doesn’t require any hiking. After a tear-jerking ceremony, Anna, Masen, and I went on a Jeep tour with Telluride Offroad Adventures. To put it simply, it was EPIC in every way.

We started our adventure hiking to a gorgeous secret waterfall that gave us the most breathtaking views. Following that, we traveled up Ophir Pass, and our tour guide Kevin was able to take us up to another hidden gem of an alpine lake. While we drove our way up there, it began to snow. The snow kept coming and gave us some of the most stunning views of the mountain range below. We truly felt like we were on top of the world!

To finish the day, we stopped at Wood Ear for some ramen bowls to warm us up. It was such a perfect end to a perfect day.

As a Colorado elopement photographer and planner, I looooove working around Telluride and the San Juan mountain range. It has some of the best views in the entire state, and holds such a dear place in my heart. Are you interested in eloping in Telluride?
