Crested Butte Fall Alpine Lake Elopement
Crested Butte is one of my all-time favorite locations for eloping couples. There isn’t quite anything like Crested Butte, Colorado in the fall. The colors are incredible, the snow-capped mountains peek out, and the weather is usually lovely.
D+M decided to elope in Crested Butte because of the fall colors, and super accessible locations for a ceremony with guests. Crested Butte is nestled in the Elk Mountains, which leaves the town and surrounding areas surrounding by towering mountains as far as the eye can see. There’s gorgeous valleys that showcase the fall colors this time of year, and even a hidden alpine lake bursting with color.
After getting ready at their AirBNB, they headed over to their ceremony spot, which was right in the middle of a gorgeous valley surrounded by mountain views and fall aspen colors. Having mountain views on all side, they had their ceremony with their closest family and friends. After a tear-jerking ceremony, we snuck off for some time to adventure with just the couple. The alpine lake we adventured to was absolutely magical, but I think the best part was the views on the way back down the mountain, where we had an incredible panoramic view over the valley with crazy fall colors on every side.
One thing that was super special about this elopement day was that D+M were expecting! They used part of their reception as a gender reveal with the cutting of their wedding cake. Everyone wrote on a piece of paper what they thought they were having, and as they cut the wedding cake, it was revealed that they were having a GIRL! The cheers were abundant, and the smiles and laughs continued for the rest of the evening.
This fall elopement was full of gorgeous mountain views, fall colors galore, wonderful guests, and a free-spirited loving atmosphere. It was such a special day!
