Rocky Mountain National Park + Granby, CO Elopement
When Brooke and Joseph reached out about their Granby elopement with their dog there to be their witness, I said SAY LESS LEMME PACK MY BAGS! As we were planning I remember how excited they got when we talked through their elopement day, and just how magical it was going to be. The entire time during planning, Brooke kept saying, “If I see a moose, the day will be truly complete.”
We met at their AirBNB before making the long drive to this little secluded lake outside of the south entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. This lake was practically deserted as we made our way to a small outlet, where they held their emotional ceremony.
Their lakeside ceremony was full of happy tears and beautiful vows, after which we explored around the lake a bit more. After having their pup “sign” their marriage license as their official witness, it was time to get some food to celebrate!
After getting lunch in Granby and some patio hangs, we ventured into Rocky Mountain National Park. We had only driven about 5 minutes into the park before looking over and spotting… you guessed it… A MOOSE! I absolutely looooove moose sightings, especially when they’re a safe distance away like this one was (this one was about 50-75 yards away). The rest of the day was followed by, “I can’t believe we saw a moose!”
As the sun set in Rocky Mountain National Park, we got to watch the sun crest over the towering mountains as we explored Trail Ridge Road. They ended their night by sitting next to a fire on the patio of their AirBNB, sharing a drink and snuggles with their dog!
