Crested Butte Colorado Summer Wildflower Elopement
One thing I love about my job is how often it takes me to the most magical place in all of Colorado—Crested Butte. Crested Butte is the wildflower capitol of Colorado, and has earned that title rightfully so. During the months of late June to mid August, wildflowers of all shades explode along the gorgeous mountains and valleys surrounding the area.
Tyler + Jared decided to elope here because of the wildflowers and this secret alpine lake that I told them about. It is quite honestly one of my favorite little corners of the area, as it’s always so quiet and peaceful at sunrise and sunset. This summer day was no different. We had the whole area to ourselves, with just the rustling trees, lapping water, and mountain breeze to keep us company.
After their emotional ceremony, we took portraits around the lake, and finished off our time with a lakeside charcuterie picnic, featuring Nothing Bundt Cake, disco balls, and lots of gorgeous decor (all plastic with no flames lit, of course).
This elopement may be one of my favorites from the year. As a Colorado elopement photographer, I get to explore the Rocky Mountains regularly, searching for new places to adventure with my couples. But more than anything, I love planning elopements for my couples that truly speaks to them, and this day was SO Tyler + Jared.
