Can I tell you a secret? This elopement was planned in 10 days. YUP. 10 days. If you’re ready to cancel the big wedding plans and go for something a bit more private, we can plan it in almost any amount of time, so it’s never too late!
These two decided to elope on their 10 years anniversary of being together. They knew they wanted to have an adventure at some point on their elopement day and wanted it to be unique. When I suggested paddle boarding at sunrise when no one else would be around, they were SO on board. The morning of their elopement as we pulled up to this gorgeous lake outside of Granby, Colorado, they weren’t actually sure if they wanted to paddle board or not since it was a cold morning. I suggested bringing the boards with us in case they changed their mind. After taking a spin on the water after an emotional sunrise ceremony, they were SO glad they brought them.
Paddle boarding is one of my favorite adventure elopement ideas, as it let’s the couple have some alone time with nature with JUST the two of them (even away from me). I’m still able to get incredible adventurous photos of them exploring, but they get to take a moment to themselves to connect with each other and nature.
Granby, Colorado is a beautiful gem right outside of the southern entrance to get into Rocky Mountain National Park. Because it’s so close to the national park, this elopement location is a no brainer for couples wanting easy access to the national park, but maybe weren’t able to get a permit for a ceremony inside the national park. You get the best of both worlds; exploring a beautiful mountain town and holding your ceremony outside the park, but then being close enough to explore inside the park when your ceremony is done.
