Alternative Intimate Elopement in Golden, Colorado

Oh my GOODNESS. I don’t even know how to put this beautiful day into words, but I’ll sure try!

Sonora + Jermaine had one of the most beautiful, intimate, alternative, intentional elopement days I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of. These two decided to tie the knot at home a little over a year before this celebration during the height of the COVID pandemic. They felt like they missed out on getting to celebrate with their friends and family on their wedding day, since they weren’t allowed to see any of them from isolation.

With this in mind, they set out to planning an intimate vow reading in Golden, CO at the Table Mountain Inn. They decided they didn’t want to go the traditional route, so Sonora wore a beautiful sparkly pink dress as her elopement attire. She also decided on the day of her elopement to wear he trusty Dr. Martens boots to feel more comfortable, and a little more like herself.

We set out to Lookout Mountain in Golden, CO for some beautiful portraits as the sun was setting, and on the way back to the Inn, we witnessed one of the most intense sunsets I have ever seen in all my time in Colorado. If you’re ever been to Colorado, you know the sunsets can be something absolutely breathtaking, and this blazing-fire sunset sure was one of them.

And then finally, the vow reading and celebration began at the Inn! This southwest-style courtyard with bistro lighting and adobe styling was something out of a photographer’s dream. The intimate and beautiful vow reading began, where they stood beneath a gorgeous custom floral arch made by the fantastic Stephanie + Jordan Mack with Flower Disco.

This evening was such an intimate take on what your wedding day can be, and I’m so happy these two did it exactly the way they’ve always dreamed - without the production and fluff, and focusing on the things that mattered to them.
